Visting Christchurch

Timber storage

Last week I flew to Christchurch to visit a timber furniture manufacturer. I am working on an interior job where we are getting several pieces of custom made furniture - so along with the project manager, we visited Davies Furniture to finalise details and check out their facility. It was great!
We had lunch at C1 Espresso where they deliver sliders to your table via a pneumatic tube at 100km/hr. We ordered a meal especially to see this in action - very clever indeed.

This is what a timber manufacture factory looks like.

Craft Cafe in Paris

Spotted on Remodelista this morning is this stylish Parisian cafe with a great concept. Aimed to the creatively inclined, Craft is halfway a coffee, reading and co working space. Designed by Paris based design firm PoolCraft serves to the self employed creatives (like me!), who are mobile, skilled and more often than not connect with their clients and fellow workers away from the office. It also is another environment to be creative surrounded by others, rather than in isolation in front of the keyboard. Love this concept and this space - wish it was close to me and my fellow designers
